About

Sarah Headshot

I followed my passion for working with young children by earning my Masters in Science (EI/ECSE) and teaching license from the University of Oregon in 2003. This pivotal experience opened the door for an amazing and rewarding career in several top performing, award winning school districts. For the last 13 years I have devoted myself to helping early childhood elementary students realize their full potential.  I have successfully taught in the Palm Springs Unified School District, San Juan Capistrano Unified School District and most recently Eanes Independent school district in Austin, Texas.

Since moving back to Southern Oregon, I watch my son play in the same parks, canyons and streams I played in as a child and marvel at how fortunate we are to live here.  I love being outdoors whenever possible and some of my favorite things to do are hiking, gardening and exploring local parks with my son. Some other favorite pastimes of mine include reading, Oregon Ducks football and spending time with my family.

I am devoted to empowering parents to be advocates for their children, creating inclusive school environments and building a school community that values all learners.  I believe that aspiring to be an educator is the ultimate profession and feel very honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with future teachers. I am not only excited to share my experiences as a successful educator, but also look forward to watching my Southern Oregon University students grow and start their journey in education.
